Our Annual Impact Reports

  • Jan 2022, in collaboration with Bike for Every Child and Nourish NC, we provided 150 children with bicycles, gifts, and food boxes for our Three Kings Day Event.

  • Interviewed a series of guests on our Chisme Informativo social media show on topics relevant to our community. The topics included: mental health, financial assistance, and education on filing taxes.

  • Collaborated with the Harrelson Center and Maya Freelon to facilitate a community youth project where 20 children were able to make a community quilt.

  • March 2022, collaborated with artist Edith Hidalgo to expose children to art. We facilitated 3 art classes for around 20 kids and provided all the art supplies.

  • Partnered with New Hanover County Office of Diversity and Equity to register minority owned businesses into MWBE program.

  • Partnered with NHC Libraries bilingual program.

  • Day Celebration around 40 women attended and received free gifts and enjoyed socializing with other mothers.

  • Collaborated with Children’s Museum to increase Hispanic/Latino family participation and engagement.

  • Art classes at Long Leaf Park 15 children participated.

  • Provided interpretation services at the annual Back 2 School event at the MLK Center.

  • August 2022, our Non-profit was awarded the NHC Equity Award, a very proud moment!

  • Proclamation of Hispanic Heritage Month by New Hanover County.

  • Cape Fear Latino Festival where over 3,000 people enjoyed and learned about our culture.

  • Celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month at the Children’s Museum, International School at Gregory and Pender County.

  • Partnered with the HHS to bring more awareness for Aids and HIV testing for the Hispanic Community.

  • Partnered with Nourish NC to help our families in need .

  • Holiday event and Food give away for needy families thank to los Los Portales for your support 

  • 2023 started strong with our annual Three Kings Day celebration and bike and gift give away. Thank you to Bike for Every for always supporting our families that we serve.

  • We are currently participating in the UNC Chapel Hill program the Language Access Collaborative with New Hanover County to learn more about Language Equity and how to bring language equity in our community.

  • We have been very busy providing support to our families with our referral services, case management and interpreting services.

  • We also were able to bring some Consular services to New Hanover County

  • The El Salvador Consulate and Mexican Consulates where here in June 2023 we were able to help over 615 people with consular issues from passports, and birth certificates to identification cards from their respective countries.

  • We have been very busy here at Cape Fear Latinos and everyday we strive to make a difference in our community.
